the cotswolds

The Wheatsheaf Inn is situated in the heart of the Cotswolds making an ideal base for excursions throughout the Cotswolds. Please see below for a small snapshot of what is out and about in the Cotswolds.

Please ask us for more information; we would be delighted to assist you during your visit.

We can arrange tickets for the Cheltenham festivals (literary, jazz and music), for Cheltenham National Hunt Racing week, Badminton Horse Trials, the Cornbury Festival, events at Westonbirt Arboretum, Blenheim Palace, the Three Choirs Festival, Gifford's Circus and for many more events in the area. Tickets are subject to availability, but please call and we will do our best to make your arrangements for you.

SHOOTING

Through our partners, we can arrange days for almost any level in some the county's most beautiful private estates. We also have a number of syndicate days available.

We can arrange clay pigeons shooting at a number of estates locally or at Ian Coley's Shooting School which is only 5 miles from the Inn. Ian was named in July's edition of the Shooting Times as one of the best 100 shots this country has ever had. He was Manager and Coach of the British Clay Target Shooting Team for the last 25 years and in the Sydney Olympics in 2000 he coached Richard Faulds to his Olympic Gold medal in Double Trap.

FISHING

We've got some exceptional chalk stream fishing available on a private beat on the River Coln, available until September. The fishing is in a quintessential Cotswold Valley close to the inn and is dry fly and and nymph fishing. It is mainly for stocked brown trout and some wild trout as well.

Please email reservations@cotswoldswheatsheaf.com for more details.

RACING IN CHELTENHAM

The world famous Cheltenham Racecourse is only 10 miles away with fixtures throughout the season.www.cheltenham.co.uk
