“Big smiles from young and enthusiastic staff greet you and a pint of Hooky Bitter or London Pride will be in your hand before you know it...expect a mix of traditional English fare of unpretentious goodness and impeccable provenance...Wine from the best of the old and the new worlds... A great little place to return to after a day out exploring the High Wold countryside and villages.”

”A friendly C17 coaching inn that invites long hours beside log fires, and lazy mornings lounging in their comfy beds. Lunch and suppers to be recommended.”

We recently visited for lunch which was much enjoyed. Everything was fresh, and well prepared. We had a grilled sole and lamb steak and both were superb. Not diminishing the quality of the food, the highlight is the ambience.
